WHAT AM I LISTENING FOR? 
If you wanted to know what ports
 your server is has open and listening
 for connections to be made.  Use:
 
 $ netsat -a | grep LISTEN
 
 tcp 0 0 *:ssh  *:* LISTEN
 tcp 0 0 *:smtp *:* LISTEN
