 Unix Tip #4143- June 15, 2012

CREATE YOUR OWN GROUP ALIASES

If you want to create an alias for a group of people with
similar interests, on your workstation (Say a SUN
workstation), then include the following line at the end
of the file /etc/aliases and run the command /bin/newaliases

unixtips: bhavin@foobar.com, atulk@foobar.com, virajpikle@mail.com

Now, an e-mail sent to
alias_name@workstation_name.foobar.com
will be bounced to the addresses listed above in the
/etc/aliases file.

In other words, if my workstation name is "soorya",
an e-mail sent to
unixtips@soorya.foobar.com
will be bounced to
bhavin@foobar.com,
atulk@foobar.com, and
virajpikle@mail.com
