- a realtime POSIX OS based on microkernel technology. QNX 4.21 started shipping in April, 1994, and features 32 bit Pentium support, a CAM-based SCSI I/O system, TCP/IP, NFS, RPC, SNMP (client) and additional networking flexibility. QNX combines the functionality and flexibility of a research-calibre OS with the robustness and performance of a commercial OS. QNX has been extensively proven in mission-critical application domains such as process control, factory automation, financial transaction processing, point-of-sale, medical instrumentation and telecommunications.
