Unix Tip #4270- November 19, 2012
RSYNC OVER SSH
To rsync a tree over ssh to a remote server.
1) Set the RSYNC_RSH variable
2) Export the variable
3) Rsync the local tree to the a remote server
% RSYNC_RSH=ssh
% export RSYNC_RSH
% rsync -avz --verbose /home/* user@server:/tmp/backup
NOTE: All tips provided are USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Tips are submitted
